Neck Gaiter Vine Review. Brand: MOSS AND GEAR. Gaiters? We dont need//// Yes, you do.
I live in the south. Never wore a muffler or knew what a gaiter was. I recently wore gaiters I made myself, before I knew what a gaiter was. I had a shrunken and stained performance shirt, purchased as a golf shirt. You know the type - moisture wicking, UPF ratings, polyester quick dry. All of that. Along comes what we call in these parts: Snowmageddon. Followed 2 years later by what we call Icemageddon. Snowmageddon was under 10 degrees, 24/7 for longer than we had ever witnessed. Somehow I thought to remove the sleeves off that old golf shirt and made 2 gaiters. Yes they are thin. But wow, they made a huge difference. I have continued to use them for outdoor work, to Icemageddon And Beyond! If I sweat, it wicks and dries quickly, if there is Red Neck exposure, it has me covered. If there is a dust storm, I can cover my nose and mouth. And its never uncomfortable. But I wouldnt wear them out in public! __ I could not show my face out wearing them.
I just saw some . fashionable or at least understated Vine gaiters. And this one well it covers everything I described above with that same feel. I expect to keep this in my vehicles, there at the ready, if I get caught out at tomorrows *.geddon! It is UPF 50, so - Sunmageddon? ____ Then I selected a thicker model YANIKY to review.
As a seasoned gaiter maker (smirk) this gets a 5 Necks Up review. With a choice of colors for you.
This one for work on foot, I'm guessing anything with speed, like a motorcycle COULD need more thickness. I would probably just double up!
Adjusted RyanL Vine Voice rating scale:
_ Well below expectations. And/or Listing is false.
__ Below expectations and/or Significant listing errors or Significant problems.
___ Neutral - some good, some bad. Or highly priced for no known reason.
____ Meets expectations. Price seemed competitive when review was written.
_____ Exceeds expectations and/or the competition with Value. Unique. (Less than 30% of my Vine reviews of items over $15.00.)
This is a nice gaitersuper soft and comfortable. I chose it because it looked thinner and more wearable than many others online, which can feel too much like a scarf with low-quality fabric. Our family owns about five similar gaiters, and this one is as good or better than any of them.
Bought this to wear while fishing offshore. Very comfortable and really protects my lower face and neck from the intense sun
I used this on a trip to Alaska, partially to fend off wind/sun, and partially to fend off mosquitoes. It worked well enough for both purposes, but might be too clingy for mosquito swarms. The material is lightweight and very stretchy. The cut is not as loose as I would have liked. I have a 16.5 inch collar and this hung closely about my neck, plus it did not drape as far onto my shoulders as much as I wanted. It was long enough to allow pulling the top over my head while still covering my neck completely. When not covering my head I let it fall inside my shirt collar, where it sat fully within the collar, not falling over it anywhere. I would pull it up over my head when going out in the wind or chill and could cover my mouth and ears easily.I didn't feel that it blocked wind greatly but it was satisfactory in 45 degree weather. I did not experience any mosquito bites wearing it but you should not count on that.It was thin enough that when pulled over my head I could still wear a hat without any change in comfort of the hatband fit.It was lightweight enough that I could have carried 2 in a fanny pack and still have most of the space available.I saw no change in its appearance after washing.I am happy with its performance, but given that there are other gaiters that are MUCH cheaper than this its only benefit for the price appears to be the styling.
Excellent quality!
